In Germany, T-Mobile does things differently than they do in the US. The wireless carrier is selling the Acer Aspire One netbook and the LG X110 netbooks tied to their “web ‘n’ walk” mobile broadband service.
The Aspire One is availabe for the low price of $1.
Look for similar kinds of deals to take place in North America in 2009.

The headline is mislead and this was done purposefully. Carrier subsidized netbooks, is an interesting idea to get behind. It’s also a lot easier to get see it taking place when you hear about carriers in other countries already doing it.
In India, you’re able to get a netbook for free. The catch is that you have to keep service for 2 years, but at $30 a month I’d sign up for this in a heart beat if it were brought to the states.
