Netbooks are a pretty recent phenomenon.  Before netbooks became mainstream you had regular notebooks and UMPCs which were more like mini-tablet PCs than anything else.
Over the course of 2008, people searching for netbooks has grown dramatically.  It’s pretty surprising to see where the people are located that are searching for these ultraportable notebook computers.
Hawaii leads the way in searches with Washington in second place.  It’s more of a West Coast phenomenon for now with people in almost every state looking to get their hands on a Acer Aspire One or …

After digging in and finding the $299 Dell Mini, we’ve discovered Walmart’s sister company Sam’s Club is featuring the Acer Aspire One netbook for $350.
Since you can get one from Best Buy for the same price, it’s hard to tell how much of a deal it is.  If anything, it sounds like a good deal if you get shut out from other places, and Sam’s Club has a great return policy.
