Sony is contributing another N450 netbook and this time it’s the VCPW215AX/L.  This is a 10″ netbook with a 1366 x 768 resolution, 1GB of RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, 802.11n, Verizon mobile broadband, 4400 mAh battery, bluetooth, and Windows 7 Starter.
The VCPW215AX is selling for $599 at Abt Electronics.
One feature this netbook has that others don’t is GPS.  While you’re connected via Wifi or Verizon you can get pinpoint directions by using your netbook.

The Sony VPCW211AX is a 10.1″ netbook which joins the ranks of the 1005PE, and 1001P by being powered with the Intel N450 Atom processor. Similar to these computers, the VPCW211AX has amazing battery life of up to 8 hours.

Sony doesn’t do anything regular or usual, and the new X series VAIO netbook isn’t any exception.  It’s hard to even tell if it will be a netbook since so little is known the processor, battery and other specs which will come with it.
Either way, you know that this will not be cheap.  It’s gear to be completely thin, and completely light.  Don’t be surprised if it becomes available for as much as $1,799.

While I’m sure the netbook felt no pain, you can see the inner working of the $900 netbook over at Gizmodo.  It’s truly spectacular.

Once you get your Sony netbook, you may find that you’ll need a longer life battery.
You can get one directly from Sony, and the part number is VGP-BPL15.  Sony says the battery should last 1.5x the time of the standard battery which should bring you to about 6 hours.

Sony definitely hopes so.  They are launching their P-series of netbook, which has a model with a $1,499 starting price.

While we didn’t get everything right about the Sony netbook, we were able to get the conversation started for what has turned into reality.
At 1.5 lbs it’s one of the lightest computers on the market available anywhere.  The $899 prices is steep but you get specs that are better than the usual netbook.  The P series comes with 2 GB of RAM standard as well as a Sony XBRITE screen, GPS, and bluetooth.
