Windows XP was given a reprieve until 2010 as a result of computers like the OLPC XO. With millions of people who have never owned a computer it is a market Microsoft would like to capitalize on. Especially when it gives Linux the opportunity to grow their share.
There hasn’t been too much talk of OLPCs lately, especially with so many companies entering the low cost notebook market such as Intel’s Classmate PC.  This leaves netbooks as the lone beneficiary of the extended life of Windows XP.

MSI recently announced a firmware update for their U100 model.  You can find the firmware here if you’re interested in downloading it.
As a result of the firmware update you will be able to overclock the computer which will result in a performance improvement of up to 30%.
It’s important to note that when you overclock a computer that doing so will decrease the battery performance.  If runtime isn’t a concern for you then this will help make your netbook a lot snappier.

Once upon a time in a kingdom far, FAR away people didn’t get free phones.  They had to not only pay for the phone, but also for the service they used (to say the least).  12 – 15 years ago this was also true in America.  I distinctly remember having to pay $200 for my Nokia phone which featured a 24 hour standby time.  It’s great to know that some things have changed.
