The younger, smaller brother to the popular MSI Wind U100 (and upcoming U120) is the U90. The biggest difference is the screen size with the U90 being equipped with an 8.9″ screen versus the 10.2″ screen of the U100.

The MSI Wind is felt by many to be one of the best netbooks you can get. The U100 with it’s 10 inch screen and 6 cell battery make it a great value. MSI isn’t going to sit on it’s success and is already planning an update to the U100. Dubbed the “U120″ it will still be a 10-inch screen but will have 3G connectivity built into it.

MSI recently announced a firmware update for their U100 model. You can find the firmware here if you’re interested in downloading it.
As a result of the firmware update you will be able to overclock the computer which will result in a performance improvement of up to 30%.
It’s important to note that when you overclock a computer that doing so will decrease the battery performance. If runtime isn’t a concern for you then this will help make your netbook a lot snappier.

The MSI (Micro Star Int’l) Wind has been compared to the Asus Eee PC. Not only does the Wind come with Windows XP instead of Linux, but it comes with a laptop hard drive instead of SSD. While this may compromise battery performance, you get a lot more storage for the dollar.
