The EC14D07U is very similar to other netbooks like the 1410 from Gateway’s parent company, Acer.  The difference being the addition of an internal DVD burner.

Here’s a quick update for anyone who is looking to get their hands on a EC14D07u Gateway netbook.
I reached out directly to Gateway to get some answers and the response that I received is that it is going to be available – “any day now.”

Gateway’s parent company has been on a tear lately releasing new updated netbooks left and right.  First Acer comes out with their N450 netbooks, then they release the eM250 under their eMachines brand and now they are pushing netbooks even further with the new Gateway EC14D07u.  What makes it so different from other netbooks?

The Gateway LT2106u N450 Atom netbook is the kissing cousin to the Acer Aspire One 532h.  Gateway, along with eMachines are all under Acer’s parent brand.  While the styling is slightly different the specs are exactly the same as the 532h.  They include:
