Two weeks ago, the 904HA was a great deal for just under $400. Things appear to be getting better as the same 904HA is now available for $339 with free shipping.
For $339, you’re getting a lot of the standard netbook requirements and also some great extras.

The 1002HA is very similar to the S101, except it comes with a hard drive instead of a SSD drive. The 1002HA will come with the start netbook parts aside from that, 1.6Ghz Atom processor, 1GB RAM, and a chassis that’s a mix between the older 902HA and the newer S101.
If you can wait until December, you should be able to get your hand on one for $499. What many site haven’t picked on is the brother to the 1002HA, the 1002SA.
The 1002SA is a lot closer to …

CNet got their hands on the Asus Eee PC S101, the upscale version in the line and had some great things to say about it.  All in all the review was positive, but at $650+ is a steep price to pay for a netbook.  The one area where the S101 shines is with battery life.
This can be chalked up to two things.  One it uses an SSD hard drive.  Since as much as energy isn’t spend retrieving data from the drive it’s able to help keep the battery from draining as …

[This is pure speculation; we don't have any insiders or "ninjas" feeding us information.]
Best Buy is going to stop selling Linux Netbooks.  It would be a surprise if you saw them there after the holidays.  Right now is the time when people begin shopping for holiday gifts and for many a netbook or notebook are high up on the list.  At under $400, netbooks seem very attractive but when they have Linux installed there’s a layer of complexity.  Best Buy won’t want to deal with the return that will happen …

If you have an Asus Eee PC netbook, there’s a hack you may not have heard about.  You can change the screen orientation from landscape to portrait.
This is great if you want to use your netbook as an ebook reader since the page orientation is up and down instead of side to side.
From the article:
You either use a program called EeeRotate. Although it has no official relationship with Asustek, Eee Rotate was said to be created specifically for the Eee PCs. It runs on Windows XP-powered Eee PCs and all …

After looking at the Acer Aspire One, and the Dell Mini 9 the ASUS Eee PC 904HA is the best value hands down.  First of all, it comes with a 6 cell battery standard.  For most manufacturers that would be an additional $59 - $129 on top of the price you’ve already paid for the netbook and it’s puny 3 or 4 cell battery.
Next, it comes with Windows XP standard.  You won’t have to worry about using Linux or returning it because you don’t know how to use it.  It will the …

While most Eee PCs are too new to need a replacement battery, there is no such thing as being too prepared.  After scouring the internet it appears the best deal you’re going to get is $59.99.
It appears to be an aftermarket, but it provides a steep discoutnt to the original OEM battery 90-OA001B1100.
You can read more about it here.

Earlier today, Best Buy was getting a lot of press because they are selling the popular MSI Wind with Windows XP for $349.
The good vibes didn’t last very long when a story of horrible customer service surfaced.  A customer picked up a Sony mini-notebook and the accompanying warranty.  When something happened, he went back to his Best Buy store realizing that the store was the best place to go in order to get the problem fixed.  True to their word, Best Buy was ready to replace the notebook or give …
