Asus is constant pushing out new firmware to help owners of their netbooks get better use out of them.  This time they’ve updated the firmware for the Asus 1005PE and 1001P netbooks.  The updated version, 0804 is supposed to help increase screen brightness as well as updating the thermal policy.  This would also help when the fan turns on.
