This is starting to make the Asus 1001P netbook look a lot more attractive since Asus has said that you can upgrade the memory to …

A lot of not-so-good things happen when I start writing and it was no different when I named the HP Mini 311 as the “Netbook of the Year” for 2009.  In doing so, I received some feedback that the Acer 1410 was worth checking out and the comments were correct.  Even though Acer didn’t market the Aspire 1410 as a netbook it provides all of the things people have come to know and love about the new netbook category of computers.
While doing research I found that a lot of the …

After crowning the HP Mini 311 as our 2009 Netbook of the Year, at least one reader was bold enough to disagree and instead suggested we look at the Acer Aspire 1410-8414.  It’s a fantastic piece of computer but it isn’t a netbook.  You would think it is with it’s 11.6″ screen and light body but when you look underneath you find that the processor, an Intel Core 2 Solo and the operating system, Windows Vista Home Premium take it out of the netbook world.
