The Aegis Netdock Gives Netbooks Super Powers
The tradeoff with a netbook has traditionally been that you get a smaller hard drive, no media drive, and limited ports when compared to a full sized notebook. The Netdock looks to change all of that buy giving all of this functionality to your netbook.
For under $100 you’re able to make use of a DVD/CD writer, 4 extra usb ports, and the option to add a SATA or SSD drive. If you tried to buy all of these components separately you’d end up paying around the same amount but you’d have to deal with all of those components being sprawled all over the place instead of being part of one product.
Unfortunately, everything isn’t all peaches and cream. The biggest tradeoff with the Netdock is that you don’t have the ability to power it with the USB power of your netbook. Instead you have to have it plugged in which might be good if you were always at your desk but most people with netbooks have there everywhere from the park to the airport and having an outlet may not be readily available.
