ION 2 Netbooks Delayed Until Late May/Early June

The Acer Aspire One 532G and the ASUS 1201PN are eagerly anticipated but may not be coming out for a little while.

These first two netbooks with the new ION 2 chip will not be available until at least the end of May, with June being much more likely. NVIDIA is claiming no delay on its end with the ION 2 chips, but both Acer and ASUS say to not expect the new netbooks until the end of May or the start of June. No word was given for the delay, just that the netbooks would not be launching until then. The ASUS 1201PN, a 12 inch model, will have a dual-core Atom processor with a sixteen-core ION 2 chip, but it is not expected until mid to late May in Europe and Asia with the U.S. getting it in early June.

For the Acer Aspire One 532G, a 10 inch model, it is not expected to be released until Computex hits in early June. Hopefully there will be more announced models this coming summer, but so far, it is looking like we will have just these two.
