Changing The Background (Wallpaper) In Windows 7 Starter

There are several difference between Windows 7 Starter which comes with many netbooks and Windows 7 Home Premium edition.  One of those differences is that by default a user is unable to change the background image.  Sadly, Microsoft felt that this kind of functionality isn’t worthwhile enough to give netbook owners.

Despite that, there is hope.  You can update your wallpaper and do so fast AND free.

For starters you are going to need a free program to help get this done.  The name of the program is Oceanis (you can download it for yourself here).  Once you download the program and install it you’ll want to restart your computer.  Once you’ve restarted your machine you just have to open up the program and from there you’ll be able to change the wallpaper on your own.

There you have it.  Quick and painless.

One thing to note is that if you decide to upgrade from Starter to another version you’ll want to make sure you remove this program as it is designed to only work with Windows 7 Starter.
