HTC To Launch Their Own Line Of Netbooks?

This one is a rumor with a capital R.

HTC used to be known as the best original design manufacturer (ODM) around.  Companies from all over the world paid them to create a slew of phones.  Business went so well that they decided to make phones  under their own brand name.

It turns out that HTC may be mulling around the idea of making their own line of netbooks.  The HTC brand is well known all over the world and they could add onto their profits by launching a line of netbooks.  It’s a crowded market but they have the design skills to come out with products which would be differentiated from products that already exist.

HTC actively designs and manufacturers netbooks but just for the purpose of studying them.  If the market continues to increase in size it may only be a matter of time before HTC netbooks start making their way onto store shelves.
