CeBIT 2010 Wrapup – Netbook Edition

Chance Stevens 8 March 2010 162 views View Comments

The 6th of March has passed and with it the end of CeBIT 2010 has come.  A lot of announcements came from manufacturers and the netbook space is going to be a lot different in the months to come.

The biggest winner was Asus.  They announced updates to their 1005 line which will include Broadcom Crystal HD and 1366 x 768 resolution screens.  They also announced their 1018 and 1016 line of netbooks which take a page from the Apple playbook by adding aluminum casings.

Intel is the next biggest winner with their announcement of the N470 processor which adds DDR3 memory to netbooks.

With the iPad being the elephant in the room, there were lots of webpads on display which used netbook processors to keep power consumption (and the pricetag) down.
