Asus To Introduce Eee Diary & Eee Prime Netbooks
With so many netbooks, Asus is going to need a way to help customers and the media differentiate them all. Most of the current netbooks are made with the Seashell design with the netbook slimming down until it reaches the front similar to a clam’s shell. During CeBIT 2010 Asus announced several new netbook models including the 1015, 1016, 1018, and 1001PQ. As Asus beings to move away from purely plastic cases will be looking to expand with the Asus Eee Diary and Prime.
The Diary line will take the current line of netbooks but provide enhanced durability. This is done with enhancements like an aluminum casing. Many business professionals have shied away from netbooks because of concerns with durability and battery life. Intel N450 processor has answered any questions about battery life and with an aluminum case even the most rigorous road warrior would be able to beat it without any consequences.
The Prime series take the Diary line takes it one step further. Many people who own netbooks picture themselves owning a computer like the MacBook Air. A netbook couldn’t be further from an Air but the Prime series will bring it much closer by making netbooks slimmer, lighter, and also adding aluminum finishes. While there have been many expensive netbooks not many seemed justified with their high prices.
These offerings from Asus look to end this problem and move netbooks out of the land of cheap netbooks.
