According to this article on AppleInsider, sales of the new iPad are rumored to be in excess of 20,000 per hour. This underscores the buildup of momentum for this device and answers the question in part of whether or not people would genuinely be interested in a product like this.
There’s still no telling if the iPad will disrupt netbook sales or if it’s all a matter of “different strokes for different folks” but for the foreseeable future Apple can do no wrong when it comes to product launches.
The sale rate of the new device was derived by analysts comparing their order numbers and using the gap in between the numbers as an indicator
