1001PX Brings Matte Screen To 10.1″ Netbooks

When I wrote about the Asus 1001PX netbook on March 22nd, I wasn’t very kind.  On the surface, it looked like the only thing Asus was able to do was throw carbon fiber on the lid and keyboard palm rest and was using that as an excuse to put out another model.  It turns out that the 1001PX differs from the Asus 1001P in several ways.

The most important way is that the 1001PX has a matte screen.  Many time you read reviews about netbooks and one of the complaints people have is that the screen is glossy.  It helps colors to look more vibrant and sharper but when your in a room with sunlight in it the glossy screen only makes it more difficult to view.  By adding a matte screen Asus will be answering the prayers of many aspiring and current netbook owners.

The 1001PX will also only come with 2 USB 2.0 ports instead of the traditional 3.  Also you’ll only get one audio jack.  You can learn more over at Asus’ website.
