Replacement Asus Eee PC Netbook Parts Run Scarce

If you need to replace something on your Asus Eee PC besides the keyboard, battery or charger you may be in danger. Asus doesn’t sell anything other than these parts to people in their eStore. This means that you have to send in your netbook and pay whatever they charge for the repairs.
The alternative would be to buy a spare netbook so when yours stops working you can use the spare for parts. For most people this is an impossible alternative. The other option is to order your parts from Europe or hunt some down on eBay.
Asus isn’t alone. With the exception of Dell, HP and Sony almost no netbook brand has an extensive assortment of replacement parts. In making these computers so inexpensive a way of helping them stay that way is a small supply of parts to manage. Every part a company has to keep around for the public is an additional cost most netbook makers just don’t want to deal with.
If you do need anything for your netbook, check out Asus’ eStore.
