iSuppli: iPad To Make Apple Ooldes Of Cash

Oh Apple. The more and more I read about the iPad the more I believe that Apple was looking to stuff their wallets instead of proving a means for people to enjoy an experience between a phone a a computer.
iSuppli, who likes to tear apart gadgets and detail how much they cost to build has come out and said that Apple stands to make a lot of profit for each iPad sold. Exactly how much?
According to an article from DigiTimes:
“At a BOM and manufacturing cost of US$287.15, and a retail price of US$729, the 32GB/3G version is expected to generate the highest profit of any member of the iPad line on a percentage basis,” said Jagdish Rebello, senior director and principal analyst for iSuppli. “The 32GB versions of the iPad cost only US$29.50 more to produce than the 16GB versions, but their retail pricing is US$100 higher. This shows that Apple believes the highest-volume opportunity for the iPad resides in the mid range of the product line.”
This all may not mean anything as Apple has come out and said that they will monitor sales and reserve the right to tweak the price based on how well it sells. They did the same thing with the first iPhone. People were running out to pay $599, then the price got dropped to $399. Early adopters are going to be early adopters but as Gizmodo has said – “Don’t buy an iPad“
