HP Mini 2102 N450 Netbook Now Available

If you have a few extra hundred sitting around looking for a new small business designed netbook to spend it on the HP Mini 2102 is meant for you. It falls in the footsteps of the HP Mini 5102 but sacrifices some of the customizable features to provide a lower price.
You can now get a 2102 of your own starting at $447 at HP’s site.
Here’s a rundown on the specs (from Liliputing.com):
- CPU: 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450
- Chipset/Graphics: Mobile Intel NM10 chipset with integrated GMA 3150 graphics
- Display: 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixels
- OS: Windows XP Home, Windows 7 Starter, SUE Linux Enterprise 11, or FreeDOS
- Memory: 1GB (max 2GB)
- Storage: 160GB/250GB/320GB 7200RPM HDD
- Connectivity: 802.11b/g/n, Ethernet, optional Bluetooth, 3G

- Weight: 2.69 pounds with 3 cell battery
To get it for that price you’ll have to settle with Linux, 1GB of RAM and 3 cell battery. Even though you may be able to get 4 hours with the 3 cell battery it’s likely that many will opt for having Windows, the 6 cell battery and maxing it out at 2GB of memory. Once you’ve done those upgrade this 10 inch netbook gets more expensive than top of the line 12 inch netbooks like the Asus 1201N.
Companies deciding to order these in bulk stand to get the best deal without anyone asking why they cost so much. Aside from their casing and the additional features available (for a price) it may be better to look at other top 10″ netbooks such as the Asus 1005PE.
