Asus realizes that they aren’t going to be able to persuade everyone to pay almost $500 for a 1201N. With the 1201NL they are providing the most important feature, the Nvidia ION chipset while cheaping out in other places.
You’re not going to get a Dual Core N330 Atom processor. Instead you’ll get a N270. Also don’t expect a 1.3MP webcam because it’s only going to be .3MP. Lastly the operating system isn’t going to be Windows 7. You’ll get Windows XP or Linux.
These changes should hopefully bring the best parts of the 1201N down to the price of the 1201HA. No word on pricing but hopefully it starts coming out by Spring 2010.
