It has been rumored for months that Google would take the direct approach with it’s Chrome OS and distribute it on netbooks they would sell on their own. More details are coming out about what these netbooks will have inside of them as well as a price range.
To help keep costs down, the Chrome OS netbook will have a 10.1″ screen. The other specs are pretty impressive by netbook standards with 2GB of RAM, multi-touch screen, Nvidia Tegra graphics, and ARM processor. It appears that Intel and Microsoft are getting screwed out of the deal completely.
Engadget is reporting that this netbook will end up being priced under $300 with a model priced even lowered to make an appearance as well.
