Netbooks Go HD With HDMI Ports

Everything is going HD.  First it was televisions, then iPods, Zunes and now netbooks.  There have been more and more netbooks coming out and being sold which will allow you to output your picture to your televisions using an HDMI cable instead of a VGA cable.  This is a great move since at some point in the near future VGA is going to go the way of the parallel, serial, and PS/2 ports into extinction.  The great part of HDMI is that it carries both video and sound.  With many people too lazy to buy separate audio cables for their netbook, it just a whole lot easier to run Hulu into your television.

Enough of the talk, let’s get onto the goodies.  For now I’ve only been able to spot two HD netbooks but I’m sure there are going ot be more as time passes.

1) Asus N10 – These netbooks aren’t cheap but you’ll be able to brag about having one of the only Asus netbooks to not have the Eee PC name attached to it.  This shows the high end of netbooks with premuim graphics instead of the usual integrated solution.

- ASUS N10 Series N10JH-A1 GeForce G105M + Intel GMA 950

- ASUS N10 Series N10J-A2 WSVGA NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS

2) Lenovo IdeaPad S12 – This 12 inch netbook, weighs 3.7 pounds but give you a large screen along with the usual 160GB HDD, wireless, and 1GB of RAM. This netbook isn’t available for purchase at the time of this post being written but it’s expected to be available for $449. It will also feature an HDMI port to allow you to output 1080p video. You can read more about the S12 at PCMag.
