Error 619 Code With Acer 3G Connection Manager
A friend of mine picked up an Acer Aspire One, and is pairing with AT&T’s 3G service. He was able to get his netbook for 50% off in exchange for paying $59/month for the next 24 months. The problem now is that he’s unable to connect to the internet.
When he turns his computer on, he’s able to verify that he indeed has service but when he tries to connect to AT&T’s network he gets an “Error 619″ code. Now I was able to look up and find out that there is a proxy issue between his account and AT&T’s server but here’s the problem.
Since Acer doesn’t provide the service they don’t speak to how his 3G broadband service works. Since AT&T doesn’t make the netbook they can’t speak to how Acer makes their netbooks work. What ends up happening are situations like my friends where he hasn’t had service for the last 40 days.
He’s in the process of getting everything taken care of, and when he does I’ll be sure to update with what happens but be careful about signing up for low priced netbooks with data plans. It could be more dangerous.
