Dell Mini 12 Now Available In US
Electronista reports that you can now snag a 12″ Dell Mini netbook from their US site. To get all of the weight savings you’ll have to pay at least $550 for it which is pretty disappoints when you can get a 10″ netbook for around $400. The biggest difference aside from the screen real estate is the operating system.
Instead of getting Windows XP Home which runs well on a slower processor and less memory you get Windows Vista. If you add an SD card and enable Ready Boost performance shouldn’t be as bad.
It’s also important worth noting that the base model at $550 only comes with a 1.3Ghz Atom processor and only a 3-cell battery.
If you really really want a larger screen, you’d be better off snagging a full sized laptop which can be had for $449 at most electronic stores
